Am I allowed to walk the route?
YES. Walkers are encouraged. The event is all about fun and community support of the new library. Walk with friends, family or on your own.
Do you need volunteers?
Yes, and we need all the help we can get. You can help in a number of areas, check out our volunteer page.
Are registration fees refundable?
Your registration fee is non-refundable. All participant fees go to support the Library... you are supporting a good community cause.
How does this event raise funds?
Entry fees do not cover the total costs of staging the day's events. Runners and walkers provide the sweat that makes the day, the sponsor's generosity makes the day happen for the community. Additionally, many participants generously add a gift to their entry fees. Just a few dollars extra adds a book to your Hudson Area Library collection.
Can I register on the day of the events (October 15th and 16th)
YES, but keep in mind event participation is limited. If all entry spots are claimed by October 14th, walk up registration may not be possible.
May I pick up my bib number and race pack early?
YES, PLEASE! You will be doing yourself a favor by avoiding the lines on the event days. Your race packet will be available in Hudson at Olde Hudson at 449 Warren Street on Saturday, October 15th.
Rain or snow... what happens?
Like the Postal Service, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." Seriously, there are no weather related cancellations. Should extreme or severe weather endanger the safety of participants or effect the start of the event, an announcement will be immediately posted to our web site and our Facebook page.
May I pay my registration fees with a credit card?
YES! And that’s the best and easiest way to register – you’ll save the cost of postage and a trip to the mailbox. Plus you’ll get immediate confirmation of your entry.
What time should I arrive for my event?
If you have picked up your race packet from Olde Hudson, plan on arriving an hour prior to your event.
If you plan to register on the day of the event arrive as early as possible. But please, no later than one hour prior to your event start time.
Can I ride a bike or roller blade in the 5K or Mile race?
Not a good idea. For the safety of all entrants, bikes and blades are prohibited. Baby strollers are allowed in the 5k, but must line up to the rear of the runners.
If I register and cannot participate, may I give my bib number with my personal timing chip to another runner?
NO. Such a transfer confuses the electronic timing system and results on a participant not being insured. Every participant must run/walk with their own bib number. Every participant MUST sign their own waiver.

When will 5K race results be available?
Results immediately follow the event at the Finish venue, and will be posted on our website by 3 PM on race day and will be published in the Register Star the following Tuesday morning.
Are there Awards for the 5K and Kids Fun Run?
Yes. We will be presenting awards to the top male and female as well as top three males and females in each age-group for the 5K. Kid's Fun Run participants will all receive a medal, with a special one-mile award for the fastest boy and girl.
